I had to really take some time to look critically at the three aspects of wellbeing I am to rate myself on. In my physical wellbeing, I had allowed myself to be so idle and did not exercise as much as needed. I can rate my self at around 6. As for Spiritual wellbeing I am at 8. I know for sure that human beings have a spiritual part and I have sought to seek my spirituality seriously and I completely believe in God and committed to it too and strive day by day to get to a 10. Psychologically I am at 10. I do not consider myself as having any psychological issues.
I am now on a very strict diet ad exercise regimen and I have seen some change in my physical wellbeing and that has also affected my spiritual side. I am finding my mind very clear and very receptive to the books that I read and the personal studies that I do. I am also very well able to react to life situations differently and in the process maintain a level head so to say. I am planning on having more quiet times, meditate and also find more opportunities for me to serve other human beings. I am also deliberately working on reducing my friends to only those that are meaningful to my wellbeing and those that encourage me to be the best person I can be. By doing these things, I am sure that I will be able to add 'muscles' to my spiritual and psychological wellbeing.
I tried the relaxation exercise and keeping in mind all the valuable tips I got after the first exercise, I could at least feel some difference and was able to relax even though not completely but I can see some improvement. It is a little frustrating not to feel exactly what the exercise wants me to achieve but knowing that Rome was not built in a day, I am encouraged to keep trying and going by the little relaxation I felt, It will be awesome to get it all the way.
David,
ReplyDeleteI hear that everyone wants to relax...this something we work on doing but never really get to that down time that is so desperately need by all of us..I have tried the exercises few times...and i just cannot allow myself to relax by this particular exercise.
I hope that you are able to strive and obtain your for the relaxation techniques that you learn through this class. I have several ways that I allow my self to relax..I have done this for years...i have my CDs that I listen to...there are no words just some very pleasant music that can take my mind into different areas that in a normal busy day I cannot manage to find.
So glad to see that you are able to rate yourself this high! Congratulations are in order!! I have much work to be done to see myself in this positive light. But when my spirit hurts as it is currently I have to allow for the healing process to complete before that can be accomplished..Great post!
Jeni,
DeleteThanks for your response and kind words. I believe that we can all be able to attain the best in our lives despite our challenges and I am hopeful that you too will be able to get through your hurt and attain integral health.
Hi David! I think you made a great statement about removing ‘friends’ from your life that are not significant to your well-being. I feel like many people are almost like a poison; breaking us down. Some people take what they can from us and never giving anything back. I also think surrounding yourself with encouraging and inspiring people creates a positive atmosphere for everyone involved; especially if you are able to give back to those people. I think those types of people are also most likely concerned for their all-around health and well-being, as well as yours. This offers the opportunity for physical, spiritual, and psychological strength to develop. I feel like you have a great outlook on life and have some great ideas for improving it!
ReplyDeleteR.Mitchell,
DeleteI have been through very bad experiences in my life involving people I thought they were my pals and I am now wiser and so far I have seen my efforts seems to be bearing fruits. It feels so good to have friends who encourage you and also lovingly correct you.
Hi David,
ReplyDeleteI'm a firm believer in being around "like minded people". Getting rid of the negative people in my life and also removing them from my facebook has helped me tremendously. I'm okay with listening to friends when they have a problem but everyday drama has got to go! Good for you that you are now eating right and exercising. I know since I have gotten serious about my wellness as a whole, things have changed for me and made me feel better and happier. Your right, Rome wasn't built in a day and as long as you are working on the things that you feel are important to you, you will get there and you will SUCCEED!!! Good luck and God bless!
Cindy
Hey David,
ReplyDeleteI have gotten so far from my diet/exercise regimen that I was on that I am currently feeling the ill-effects that it is having on my body. I am glad that you are on the upside of that battle. It is amazing to be able to feel energy and to have a clear mind. At this point, I am lacking the motivation and desire to fix it. When I am not eating well and exercising, psychologically I go downhill as well. It is a tough battle. However, much of this ties into the spiritual realm for me as well. It is amazing how it all really does tie together, and there is really no separating it all. When one aspect is not flourishing, many times the other aspects will go down with it. Have you found this to be true at all in your life?
Amy
David,
ReplyDeleteI think it's awesome that you are already making strides towards improving your physical health. I myself have tried to improve and work towards small goals. I have yet to be able to follow a diet, but I do eat smart and healthy. I also agree with you on limiting your friends. In the last two years I have greatly reduced the people I spend time with. I feel like that is a big part of growing up. You have to leave the friends behind that no longer fit into your lifestyle or that you have out grown.
David,
ReplyDeleteI see you are making some progress and I am glad to hear that you are finding the exercises a little easier to relax. Like you, I would say I do not have physcological issues; however, I think from time to time we can get a little off kilter when there are a lot of bad things going on they seem to be beyond our control.
I am trying to work on the things dragging me down, but it has been emotionally draining lately. The relaxation exercises I believe will be my saving grace to relieve the stress, espcially when facing difficult days.
